The Insectary Production Assistant is responsible for performing various tasks related to producing AgBiTech’s biological insecticides, including machine operation, quality control, and general production procedures. The Insectary Production Assistant will work closely with the team to ensure smooth operations and timely production output.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPS) and instructions to maintain consistency and efficiency in production processes.
• Accurately record production data and maintain production records for reporting purposes.
• Support other production and manufacturing tasks as needed.
• Work closely with the team to maintain a large colony of moths and caterpillars, including detailed processes to support each stage of the insect life cycle.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements.
• Operate customized equipment and machinery used to undertake various processes of insect rearing.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, the insectary, and the production areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storing tools and equipment properly, and disposing of waste in accordance with company guidelines.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure processes are completed efficiently and meet company standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvements.
• Develop and maintain strong collaborations with AgBiTech colleagues.

Job Requirements:

• Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to get along well with others.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently, alone or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to measure and calculate dimensions accurately.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods of time, and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPS).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to contribute to process improvement.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Hand dexterity and strength.
• Comfortable wearing a hooded respirator in a warm/humid environment for prolonged period of time.
• Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
• May be required to frequently lift up to 60 lbs.

Opportunity Details:

• Sunday pay is paid at a shift premium of 35% higher than the base hourly rate!
• Position pays $17/hr with a bonus opportunity of $333 every 4 weeks (bonus is dependent upon the team meeting production goals)
• 2 positions open for Monday-Friday 5:30am-2:00pm
• 1 position open for Sunday-Thursday 5:30am- 2:00pm
