Key Accountabilities

  • Supports the annual budget process for the facility fiscal budget; estimates staffing, and capital equipment needs based upon recent trends and planned activities; monitors expenditures after budget adoption; approves requisitions for purchase of materials or supplies.
  • Manage new or modified equipment / facility installations to include identifying & purchasing initial spare parts and implementing TPM procedures.
  • Deliver orders to production floor and expedites to various departments when needed to help meet customer demand.
  • Analyze equipment failures, implement corrective action, and develop process improvements.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff; prioritizes, assigns, and reviews work, approves time off for payroll purposes, and prepares employee performance evaluations.
  • Develop annual objectives in concert with departmental and company goals.
  • Work with but not limited to Customer Care, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Outside Processing to help meet On Time Delivery and Inventory Availability objectives.
  • Use various reports to track inventory and order volume to react proactively to order requirements.
  • Close interaction with plant team including Operations, Quality, Materials, and Safety
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility building and grounds, including HVAC, compressed air, wastewater treatment, office equipment, etc.
  • Management planning, and control of the plant’s CMMS, including effective spare parts management.
  • Responsible for reporting on all metrics and KPI’s associated with the Planning department.
  • Manage daily orders for assigned region by planning the purchasing, machining, and or assembly of products.
  • Accelerate World Class Manufacturing (continuous improvement) through ZEBS methodology and culture as the way to deliver sustainable results and improve performance.
  • Facilitate feedback and communication with internal departments, service centers, and rep agencies.
  • Provide key input to the facility capital planning, capital appropriations request, & implementation processes
  • Identify, justify, and coordinate the implementation of manufacturing capital improvement projects.
  • Develops action plans, standard work, and countermeasures as needed to support the metrics and KPI’s though VDM systems.
  • Assist floor personnel with order fulfillment issues or questions.
  • Define, implement, and monitor a plant TPM master plan, including implementation of OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
  • Be a champion of total associate engagement by fostering an inclusive and collaborative environmnent, celebrate wins, and creating a sense of belonging and strong morale.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or a manufacturing related field.
  • Ability to provide direction, implement ideas, and adapt to changing business environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and cross functionally.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Previous union experience required.
