Job Description

Manufacturing Manager- Automotive

Location: Necedah, WI

Salary: $70,000- $75,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Initiates Tooling and Maintenance Work Orders as needed to correct tooling and equipment issues, coordinates and provides information to Engineering and Maintenance as applicable to aid in the problem-solving process.
  • Communicates work schedules and adjusts as needed at the direction of the Application Center Manager or designate.
  • Provides leadership to the Unit while promoting safe work practices and quality product at the source of production to achieve plant KPI’s
  • Identifies and takes corrective action on production and/or tooling problems to provide leadership and direction. Shuts down the process if nonconforming product is identified until the issue is corrected.
  • Responsible for the entire Value Stream of their respective Unit and subsequent shift(s)
  • Supports Quality Department in the disposition of MRBs and takes action to prevent future issues.
  • Ensures the training of new employees utilizing qualified trainers to instruct on the safe operation of machinery, quality systems, product requirements, and proper set up practices to assure good first and last piece production and to determine job classification status and job performance.
  • Assist operators in ensuring appropriate supplies, tools and equipment are available for the efficient operation of the Business Unit.
  • Is a key leadership role toensure compliance to IATF 16949:2016quality systems.
  • Ensures 5S practices are followed and does corrective action and communication of issues identified in 5S audits to improve housekeeping practices.
  • Supports the Plant Manager and Staff, Supervisors, and direct hourly reports in achieving the objectives of the Unit to assure safe achievement of producing quality product to the production priorities per the SAP dispatch schedule.
  • Facilitates continuous improvement through daily communication with associates at all work centers and through regular department meetings.

Qualifications

  • Sound understanding of manufacturing ERP systems
  • Drive & Execution: Inspires and motivates self and others, while taking full accountability for actions and results.
  • Must be able to use measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers and scales
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Proficient Computer Skills (Windows, MS Office, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic blueprint reading with regards to gaskets
  • 3 to 5 years prior Supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Communication & Collaboration: Communicates clearly and concisely, while serving as a sparring partner to internal/external stakeholders. Fosters teamwork between employees and across the organization.
  • Ability to analyze scrap reports, labor reports, manufacturing priority dispatch
  • Lean Green Belt Certification required within two years of start date
  • Automotive Industry experience is preferred
  • Ability to effectively lead and direct others (sound communication and problem-solving skills)
  • Associates or Bachelor Degree is a plus
