Job Description

Job Title: Process Control Engineer 2

Job Location: Aurora, IL

Job Type:12 months-Contract


Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

  • A typical manufacturing engineer can make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
  • The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production.


Typical task breakdown:

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Aid in planning work assignments following worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.


Interaction with the team:

  • The worker will interact frequently with engineering, Client commodity teams, the factory, and the supplier.


Work environment:

  • Office setting, travel to supplier facilities observing manufacturing process, validation at the factory.


Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering plus 2-4 years of experience.
  • OR Associate’s degree plus 5-7 years of experience
  • OR Master’s degree in engineering plus 1-2 years of experience.


Technical Skills

(Required)

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD)


(Desired)

  • Experience developing fabrication tooling design utilizing 3D modelling software such as Creo.
  • Direct experience in Light Fabrication tooling design, part development and measurement.
  • Experience with part measurement – Hardware such as Romer or Faro. Software such as PCDIMAS, Polyworks etc.
  • Highly desired to have experience developing tooling for complex welded parts with strict tolerances for position and flatness.
  • Example parts would be Fabricated Tanks, Posts, Platforms, Stairs, Cooling Package Frames etc.
