Your Responsibilities
As an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer-3rd shift for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, IL, you will provide Assembly Manufacturing Engineering support and troubleshooting for current operations in Front End Equipment Business Unit. In addition, you will:
- Work with SAP, MPPlanner, and JDAAT (MES) to perform engineering functions.
- Lead team studies related to capacity, productivity, and efficiency.
- Lead team(s) to address quality issues by utilizing root cause analysis and mistake proofing by gathering and analyzing data; working with design, tooling, advanced technologies, maintenance, and other functional areas to resolve issues.
- Lead the development of capital expenditure justifications by developing accurate cost estimates for equipment, tooling, facilities, and labor.
- Establish routings, SOE (sequence of events), line balances, layouts, tooling, assembly costs, OMS (Operator Methods Sheets), and control plans for revisions to current operations.

What Skills You Need
- Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment.
- A self-starter with the ability to execute a variety of tasks.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and working in a production environment.
- Experience in one of more related engineering areas: industrial, reliability, design, manufacturing, or quality.
- Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.
- Must be able to work 3rd shift, variable shifts and weekends if needed.
- Experience with shop floor documentation (Sequence of Events, Labor Standards, and Operator Methods Sheets).
- Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with torque tooling.
- Experience with JDAAT MES systems.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Creo View software.
- Experience with line balancing as a process.
- Experience with MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development.
- Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan).
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline
