Medela LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer

Key Experience Needed: Manufacturing Engineer

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of three years experience in process engineering and/or manufacturing environment, preferably in medical device, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Data-gathering and analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
• Process development, validation, verification, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
• Experience working in an environment with global objectives
• Process capability, PFMEA, SPC, GR&R, and other quality tools
• Strong computer and internet skills; software experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or equivalent LEAN experience preferred: VSM, SMED, TPM, 5S
• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Hands-on automated/semi-automated design, operation, and optimization skills required

Position Responsibilities: Manufacturing Engineer

• Purchase new standard and automated manufacturing equipment, lead validation activities, conduct and audit time studies for productivity
• Design or manage outsourced machine, fixture, and tool fabrication for new products or process
• Early involvement on Product Development teams, providing Design for Manufacturing expertise
• Project Management experience to lead Lean, Process, Manufacturing, and Equipment projects
• Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and execute process improvements
• Provide support to Product Development Project Managers with Operations Engineering deliverables and timeline requirements
• Responsible for utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools and proven engineering concepts to support Medical Device product releases, manufacturing automation, and non-automated fixture/equipment designs, validations, and releases.
• Lean Manufacturing background necessary to support production lean initiatives and process improvements
• Provide engineering support to kaizen events, GEMBA walks, NCR resolution, and CAPA initiatives
• Responsible for coordination of Operations Engineering cross-functional projects, including providing support to Strategic Sourcing, Tactical Sourcing, Product Marketing, Quality Production, Product Development, IT or Supplier Quality
• Develop and supervise the deployment of improved work standards and line balancing for productivity
• Support Medela's conformance to ISO, FDA, MDD, and other regulatory standards
• Lead cross-functional teams on large-scale automation or equipment projects
