Job Description
RAM Aviation Space & Defense is a manufacturer of quality products for the Aerospace, Military, and Commercial markets. Position Summary


Develops and implements Lean manufacturing principles in an assembly value stream in an aerospace component manufacturing environment. Manages manufacturing related projects and coordinates activities with various internal and external entities. Creates process flows and work instructions for value stream products. Evaluates and proposes needed machinery and manufacturing tools. Develops plant or area layouts to facilitate production operations and efficiency improvements. Coordinates and conducts operator training and certification. Ensures compliance to industry and customer specifications and requirements.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and requirements
  • CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement manufacturing documentation
  • BS degree in manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering is required
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles preferred
  • Ability to communicate and work with cross functional teams
  • Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Identify and recommend product design changes to improve work flow efficiency and reduce machine, system, or product malfunctions.
  • Provide training and certification to process operators.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Implement and coordinate process improvements in efficiency and productivity based on lean tools and principles.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Kaizen events with a range of team member disciplines
  • Generate and maintain Nadcap audit checklist compliance matrices to support complianc e activities.
  • Provide tooling designs to meet the specific needs of processes and products.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment failures and coordinate actions to restore functionality.
  • Establish and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and protocols in collaboration with the maintenance department.
  • Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare contract documents.
  • Support the development of new engineering projects with assembly and functionality design input and process development.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation for specific product designs.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (specifications, work instructions, process specific instructions, standard operating procedures, etc.) to be compliant with customer and industry requirements.
  • Create and deliver training to production operators, maintenance personnel, engineering staff, and management on equipment, processes, and systems.
