Job Description

Our client, a global professional services firm known for its work in turnaround management and performance improvement for the Fortune 500, is looking to add a Managing Director to help lead the next phase of growth for their Corporate Transformation practice within the overall growth strategy of the firm. With a team of 6,000 people across 65 offices and 25 geographies, looking to double over the next 3 years, they have a proven track record of success maneuvering critical situations and leading large-scale transformations.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with clients (senior and mid-level personnel) and act as their day-to-day resource on engagements
  • Balance the focus on growth and revenue generation with a clear ability to meet profitability targets and bottom-line results
  • Lead the development of complex analyses and performance improvement implementation plans
  • Supervise the development of 13-week cash flow forecast and 3-statement financial models (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement)
  • Establish yourself as a valued, trusted, and respected member of the firm's senior leadership team, developing close working relationships throughout the firm to support the development of enhanced cross-selling opportunities across all practice areas
  • Work across a varied and unique client base on engagements relating to Turnaround and Restructuring, Performance Improvement and Transformation. You will partner with clients throughout the distress curve, to restructure their short-term cashflow pressures and create long term stability and sustainable growth.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth through supporting marketing, training, recruiting, and business development efforts
  • Work to support companies throughout a change cycle as Chief Transformation Officer to steer change management at board level and across the organization. You will work under constricted timelines, whether because of tight cashflow constraints or bankruptcy proceedings, as an effective and valued partner delivering the best-in-service as an advisor and as interim management where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the firm's subject matter experts to identify and quantify performance improvement opportunities
  • Support the expansion of the Corporate Transformation Practice by developing a team and driving internal networks to cross-sell and develop a knowledge center.
  • Leverage your network both internally and externally to support a thriving book of business.


Qualifications:

  • High level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence with ability to identify and diffuse high energy conversations, encourage collaboration, and drive teams to desired outcomes
  • Experience understanding assessment findings and managing implementation and deployment
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to engage with the CEO and Board, and people at all levels and across functional boundaries
  • Experience working with or within companies with a wide range of ownership structures: public, private, private equity owned, etc. with clear evidence of strategic development and profitable results in an operating capacity
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to exercise executive-level judgement
  • Ability to execute seamlessly in multi-function and multi-industry roles
  • At least 8 years of experience leading operational improvement for upper middle market companies across revenue, cost and / or working capital
  • Experience in driving sustainable growth in high impact environment
  • Known for synthesizing and presenting findings and key messages for executive-level presentations
  • High energy work style, flexible, and ability to adapt to changes
  • 12+ years of strategy consulting, industry experience, or combination of the two
  • Experience creating gold standard presentations (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or finance preferred, advanced accounting degree or MBA a plus
  • Substantial knowledge of critical finance and accounting processes and functions, including but not limited to all aspects of technical accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, critical event maneuvering, cash management, treasury, and valuation
