Manager, Program And Project Management

Your Role
The Pharmacy Vendor Performance Management team supports Pharmacy Services in managing vendor relationships, tracking vendor escalations, running operational processes related to vendor management, overseeing vendor performance, and managing vendor contracting. The Manager of Pharmacy Vendor Performance Operations will report to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Vendor Performance Management. In this role you will be responsible for the oversight and management of our in-scope Pharmacy vendor operations. Leading a team of professionals, you will drive processes and business efficiencies in support of our culture of affordability. This position works closely with the Pharmacy Services team, cross-functionally with other teams within Blue Shield, as well as our external vendor partners to ensure timely, accurate, and flawless delivery of our vendor services.
Your Work
In this role, you will:

• Work collaboratively with Pharmacy business owners and internal stakeholders to ensure the health of the relationships with in-scope vendors
• Manage projects from initiation through delivery and monitor for continuous improvement
• Identify key business risks / issues, develop effective action plans and implement to successful conclusion
• Ensure in-scope vendors’ invoices are validated, approved, and paid timely according to contractual obligations
• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Provide input into designing strategies for alignment with Pharmacy Services goals and objectives
• Ensure secure access to in-scope vendors’ systems
• People leader responsible for leading a small team
• Experience driving strategic projects and partnering cross-functionally as well as with external vendor partners to achieve successful outcomes
• Exercise independent judgement in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
• Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience, including 3 years of management experience gained as a team leader, supervisor, or project/program manager.
• Experience building and managing relationships across the organization as well as with external business partners
• Establish an operating model, performance standards and escalation path for in-scope vendors
• Strong knowledge of Health Plan and Pharmacy operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that exhibit a solution-oriented approach
• Manage the Pharmacy Vendor Performance Operations team, assign and monitor work within the team’s scope and provide guidance and leadership to team members
• Previous vendor experience in multi-disciplinary setting required

Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience in the creation and implementation of process flows, including 3 years of management experience gained as a team leader, supervisor, or project/program managers
• Strong knowledge of Health Plan and Pharmacy operations
• Previous vendor experience in multi-disciplinary setting required
• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience building and managing relationships across the organization as well as with external business partners

Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $109,120.00 to $163,680.00 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
