Job Description
About The Team

The New Restaurant Models team on Merchant S&O innovates fast and capital-light ways to add new restaurant options for our consumers while providing meaningful new revenue streams for our merchant partners. We are testing and building a wide variety of new restaurant formats, from leveraging physical DoorDash kitchens to licensing brands to be prepared by other restaurants. The Culinary Strategy team plays a critical role in this work, partnering with merchants and cross-functional teams to develop the operating playbooks to build, test, and launch new brands through new channels.

About The Role

As a Culinary Strategy Manager, you’ll drive the development and launch of our newest licensed restaurant brands. You’ll help refine how we select brands, develop the processes to develop and launch brands, collect learnings, and establish the foundation for new ideas to scale. This will include building and executing playbooks to scale multiple licenses, while working with cross-functional teams to go-to market

We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, highly process-oriented, data-driven, and has exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

You will report into the Director of Culinary Strategy on our New Restaurant Models team in our Merchant Strategy & Operations organization.

You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because...

  • You’ll implement – Drive go-to-market planning & execution for new licenses to bring concepts to market
  • You’ll experiment – Use data-driven decision making and sound business judgment to test new concepts using our various licensing models.
  • You’ll strategize – Build the strategy for developing a license from which cuisine to target, what types of menus to develop and how to build the concept for rapid-iteration.
  • You’ll analyze – Build models to define brand license success, outline new product KPIs, and support our cross-functional teams
  • You’ll influence – Work cross-functionally with our Culinary Development & Sales teams to land key initiatives

We’re Excited About You Because…

  • You’re gritty – You roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to make things successful
  • You’re naturally curious – You always look for ways to innovate and improve
  • You’re a self-starter – You have a bias towards action and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment
  • You’re a relationship-builder – You can influence and motivate people at all levels across a variety of job functions
  • You’re a problem solver – You can independently translate high-level goals into actionable plans

Qualifications

  • Expert interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of leading highly cross-functional initiatives, hitting goals, and succeeding in a complex and fast-moving environment
  • 6+ years of experience in strategy / business development / operations / technology / consulting or related experience
  • Excellent analytical thinker who can deliver actionable recommendations out of complex datasets
