Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager, Internal & Executive Communications is responsible for developing and executing internal and executive communications and employee engagement strategies to inform, engage and inspire our community of 4k employees to deliver on our purpose to improve health by providing access to quality care. Specifically, this role will provide internal and executive communications for Delta Dental of California President Sarah Chavarria.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages a team - managing their performance, overseeing their professional development, helping them prioritize work and manage their workload
  • Develops innovative and measurable solutions to business challenges
  • Develops key messages, all-employee communications, executive presentations, digital content and internal storytelling content
  • Partners closely with cross-functional business units (e.g., People, Growth, Operations, Technology, Legal, Finance) to develop targeted strategic communications programs to reach and engage their teams
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to President Sarah Chavarria, developing her executive platform and developing and executing her communications strategy
  • Provide communications strategy and execution around key enterprise-wide touch points, including All Employee Town Halls, People Leader Webinars and Quarterly Director and Above meetings
  • Proactively identify opportunities to develop new programs to continually up-level our executive communications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree
  • The ability to derive clarity out of ambiguous situations
  • Excellent project and time management skills and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to fluidly navigate between strategy and execution (can develop high-level strategic plans and also produce crisp, clear communications)
  • Broad knowledge of recent industry best and emerging practices, including digital and social platforms to engage employees
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Insurance and/or healthcare experience preferred
  • Confirmed capability to work autonomously and exercise good judgment in fast-paced, dynamic environments, as well as the ability to escalate appropriately
  • Proven success building and implementing communication strategies for executives
  • Excellent interpersonal, people management and executive coaching skills
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience; 1+ years of supervisory/management experience

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $92,000 - $196,500
