Job Description
Bond Vet is on a mission to strengthen the human-animal bond through better pet care. We’re focused on urgent care, so we’re there for pets when they need us most. Our clinics are designed with pets and people in mind: warm, friendly, and highly sniffable. We balance this design with a strong focus on technology, all built in-house, which means we can easily innovate our systems to improve the veterinary team, pet, and client experience.

About the Role:

Bond Vet is building the next generation of veterinary clinics from the ground up — and we're looking for a strategic HR professional who will help develop and execute HR strategies, be an advocate for our employees, and help build programs that drive organizational and people effectiveness.

The Manager, HR Business Partner role at Bond builds strong partnerships with the business, seeks opportunities to problem solve, and provides strategic support to the regions and clinics you support. You will provide amazing internal customer support, and work with regional leaders to establish, drive, and constantly evolve our people strategy that is connected with the rest of Bond Vet.

This is a hybrid role with Tuesdays and Thursdays worked out of our office in New York City (Chelsea), and is expected to travel 20% of the time to various regions you partner with

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide support to various regions and clinics and help set People priorities
  • Leveraging analytics in decision making and being comfortable working in and with data sets.
  • Regularly analyze and interpret various types of employee data to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions to your client groups
  • Work with our legal counsel to maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting employee investigations when necessary from start to finish
  • Partner with People Team to roll out and communicate key People initiatives - performance management, compensation, benefits, training and development programs
  • Be detail oriented regarding employee data, ensuring employee data integrity at all times.
  • Provide assistance with succession planning, promotions, and other job changes.
  • Build strong relationships with clinic management and leadership teams
  • Partner with and guide clinic managers and regional leaders to provide strategic and professional HR guidance and coaching
  • Roll up your sleeves and dive into the high volume of daily operational People Team needs

About You

  • You have some experience supporting both non-exempt and exempt employee types
  • You have integrity and maintain confidentiality of our people data & analytics and use good judgment on a daily basis
  • You have a passion for understanding the goals of the organization and improving team processes
  • You have great organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete competing priorities
  • You have a high degree of empathy and are a great communicator
  • You are strong a team player and willing to assist other team members when needed
  • You thrive in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same
  • You have successfully coached and influenced managers and leaders in a previous role

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of employment law
  • SHRM, HRCI or other HR certificate Preferred
  • 5+ years of HRBP experience

We Offer:

  • Support for your physical and mental wellness: 100% covered health insurance, low cost dental & vision, access to mental health support programs and free memberships to One Medical
  • Time for you and loved ones: great PTO, fully paid parental leave, discounted Bond Vet services for pets
  • Dedication to your financial future: competitive pay, 401k match, commuter benefits. Compensation will fall between $110,000-$130,000 annually based on experience
  • A place to grow: culture that is centered in learning and development, career pathing, mentorships, empowerment and trust

Our Values:

We’re obsessed with pets: The love we feel for animals drives us to do our best. We work with initiative, positivity and warmth to bridge the gap between human and pet, focusing on wellness to keep a better, stronger bond.

We work as a team: We’re knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about a better veterinary experience. We jump at the opportunity to help one another and seek out opportunities to team up on tasks. We’re all in this together - our team, pet owners, and the animal - and our success as a team hinges on all of us doing our best.

We communicate clearly: We speak up, we do what we say, and we’re transparent and honest. We value clear, simple communication.

We work happy: We bring a happy, positive attitude to work because it impacts the energy in the office.

We’re empowered: We’re building a new kind of vet experience, and every team member is empowered to try new things and own their decision-making.
