ABOUT THE POSITION

MENTOR seeks a highly organized, creative, process- and detail-oriented Digital Content & Engagement Manager to join its Marketing & Communications team. The goal of this position is to amplify MENTOR’s online brand presence by generating creative ideas that showcase the organization, our Affiliates, and our partners; manage social media and content across digital platforms; and aid in the planning and executing of digital communications and campaigns. The Digital Marketing Manager will work with internal teams, MENTOR Affiliates, and outside vendors to develop, implement and evaluate the digital marketing activities across all communications functions – media, email, social media, video, and storytelling The MENTOR team is highly collaborative, and this role will work with every member of the Marketing & Communications team as well as all teams from across the organization and will report to the Director of Digital Marketing.


Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Support standard and special digital marketing campaigns; assist with special events, corporate partnerships, and cause-marketing arrangements.
  • Activate and grow MENTOR’s digital marketing channels through the development and execution of owned, earned, and paid integrated digital marketing tactics.
  • Execute MENTOR’s monthly editorial calendar in collaboration with MENTOR’s 24 local Affiliates across the country.
  • Assist in ensuring that MENTOR has the right mix of assets, channels, and tactics to achieve identified brand-awareness objectives and build support among target audiences; respond to and support internal requests for digital marketing support.
  • Leverage monitoring tools to define and measure key performance indicators across paid and organic social media and digital advertising. Run reports; analyze engagement data and identify trends in audience interactions. Use appropriate metrics to demonstrate accountability and success and contribute to the team’s regular reporting to leadership and board.
  • Maintain awareness and sensitivity to real-time conversations and brand presence; establish relationships with social media non-profit colleagues and local/national influencers to develop a strong brand network.


Writing & Content Production

  • Work cross-functionally to manage the production, scheduling and audience targeting and automation for all digital collateral, to ensure timely distribution and MENTOR’s ability to test the effectiveness of each communication activity.
  • Draft and edit content for all digital collateral, including newsletters and announcements.
  • Ensure a consistent, accurate, and positive representation of MENTOR in all communications channels, public relations efforts, and across the organization.


Social Media & Advertising Management

  • Oversee Google Ads grant, including account set-up, ad creation, optimization, and deployment.
  • Create, implement, and monitor paid and earned social media strategies for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, continually optimizing for best results while staying within budget; manage MENTOR’s LinkedIn Ad Grant application process.
  • Inform, implement, and monitor MENTOR’s social media strategy across platforms; Manage day-to-day activities on social media channels; Utilize content management platform (Hootsuite) to schedule content and manage engagement and analytics; report on insights and make recommendations for optimization on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (including stories & reels).


Partnership / Affiliate Engagement

  • Stay current with social media best practices and share learnings with colleagues and the Affiliate network.
  • Manage MENTOR’s Affiliate Communications Committee, scheduling meetings monthly, setting agendas, and communicating out important updates.
  • Oversee MENTOR’s Digital Asset Management system (Image Relay) and manage Affiliate permissions and accounts.
  • Curate national photography assets by partnering with Affiliates other programmatic partners to host local photo shoots.
  • Create toolkits and other guides for partners to implement MENTOR’s marketing and communications campaigns.


Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate by managing up and across; ability to distill feedback from various viewpoints.
  • Experience in paid social media advertising, Google Ads management, and SEO a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in communications, marketing, or media; agency experience a plus.
  • Considerable knowledge of digital marketing analytics and search engine optimization; experience tracking key performance indicators and making data-driven recommendations.
  • Proven track record in digital marketing, including content creation for messaging and promotion.
  • Must be process-orientated, meticulous, and have demonstrated an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must demonstrate comfort with learning and using a variety of technology platforms; experience with Hootsuite, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing, and Zoomph a plus.
  • Experience managing a brand’s social media accounts including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; ability to write concisely and efficiently to promote the mission of the organization with an emphasis on storytelling.

This full-time, exempt position is hybrid-remote. For candidates who are based where MENTOR National has offices (Boston and Washington D.C), MENTOR asks all employees to work in the office 2 days a week or 8 days a month. Preference will be given to candidates in the Greater Boston area.


Benefits Information

The Salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000. Full benefits include health and dental insurance, 403B, pre-tax transit, generous vacation, STD/LTD/Life insurance, and paid professional development. The summary of the benefits is here.
