Job Description
Job Summary


This position is accountable for the execution of all maintenance & engineering operations for equipment, installations, and facilities to ensure efficient and optimal production processes at a plant, with the highest possible safety, reliability, and compatibility with cost policy constraints.


Essential Functions


  • Evaluates and selects external technical service providers and suppliers to support the maintenance operations and negotiate prices, services and conditions with them. Supervises the delivery of required services.
  • Analyzes maintenance requirements of all equipment in the plant, develops maintenance guidelines, and plans and schedules all maintenance operations including maintenance budgets in order to ensure optimal production.
  • Classifies all required spare parts for technical equipment and installations and defines stock levels to ensure a sufficient supply and stock keeping of these parts to guarantee an immediate supply of the parts if required
  • Responsible for staff recruitment, training and development within the area of responsibility.
  • Supervises the execution and realization of the plans and ensures the timely and efficient repair, technical service work or delivery of machine parts for the production department.
  • Directs and supervises the observance of safety, health and environmental regulations in the area of responsibility.
  • Analyses key facilities in order to reduce losses in case of stoppage (risk management)
  • Analyzes and proposes requirements for investments together with the superior and if need be with the Production Manager and participates in the installation and integration of new equipment. Establishes service and user manuals.
  • Ensures the sufficient and cost-optimal supply of the plant with all required utilities such as energy, water, and electricity. Evaluates and controls the consumption, and takes measures to optimize the consumption.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of MRPII systems, such as SAP.
  • Ability to perform well in time crunched situations and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, particularly Word & Excel
  • Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.


Required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  •    5+ years of supervisory experience in a Maintenance or Engineering position
  •     4 year degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering and mechanical concepts       
  • Advanced excel and project management skills 


Supervisory Responsibilities


This position will have direct reports: 2 Maintenance Supervisors, 1 Maintenance Coordinator, 2 Maintenance Engineers
