Oxford Instruments X-Ray Technology Seeks a Seasoned Maintenance Technician to join a dedicated team of professionals at our Scotts Valley, CA location.

About the Opportunity:
The Maintanance Technician (MT) will maintain, improve manufacturing equipment and processes; improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and quality by implementing facility modifications/improvements while maintaining established facilities; proactively identify production bottlenecks and introduce processes that contribute to efficiency improvements; and identify and introduce additional or upgraded facilities/equipment to improve under-performing production processes. The MT will perform or schedule routine maintenance on production equipment and facility. Assign and audit maintenance of equipment and facility, using Preventative Maintenance System (PMS Facility Dude). Maintain PMS to include equipment updates, user information, and PM requirements.
Additional Responsibilities: Maintain automated electronic systems. Establish and Maintain a list of contractors to properly maintain and provide calibration services in the facility. Coordinate with maintenance contractors to schedule repairs and maintenance as required. Establish a schedule for repairs with appropriate departments to maintain customer delivery commitments. Provide a positive, proactive attitude toward implementing annual strategies, including continuous improvement, and other identified and communicated quality-oriented objectives. Interact with engineering department as needed on new products and engineering tests concerning new equipment and premises requirements. Participate in the specification, design, and implementation of manufacturing equipment, including technician training if necessary. Act as the safety officer for the organization, performing regular safety audits, and leading for a overall safe working environment.
About the Candidate:
The right candidate will have 3-5 years of senior maintenance technician experience in an engineering or manufacturing setting; experience working within a Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and an understanding of the value; and BS or AS degree in electronics, electrical contractor license, or equivalent practical experience with maintaining modern manufacturing systems.
Additional Responsibilities: Troubleshooting skills in a variety of areas – mechanical, electrical, structural Working understanding of production equipment includes furnaces, vacuum ovens, lathes, welding equipment (TIG), microscopes, compressed gasses and gas delivery systems, water treatment systems and chillers, and power supplies. Experience with calibration, scheduling, use of measuring systems, and electrical test equipment. Fabrication skills – knowing when to build or buy Design skills, CAD drawing or pencil sketch Tool knowledge, understanding schematic drawings, and engineering fab drawings Understanding and experience safely maintaining and repairing equipment using explosive gasses, high voltages, and radiation. Proven ability to work well and productively with all employees A good memory for discussion of previous projects and adaptations
Salary: In accordance with California law, the expected annual salary range for this position is between $55,000 - $75,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
