As a Machine Operator at NMG Aerospace earn up to $23.75 per hour plus Shift Premium for 2nd shift based on experience. As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for operating production machinery and assembling products within established procedures and guidelines in a high production environment. Supports production in various capacities as assigned.
This is a 2nd Shift Position: Monday - Thursday / 2:00 pm to 12:00 am
Job Summary:
Responsible for operating production machinery and assembling products within established procedures and guidelines in a high production environment. Supports production in various capacities as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Load and un-load parts as necessary to machining process
- Setup and operate manual machines, CNC machines, and/or lasers in a fast paced, high production environment. May run more than one unit simultaneously.
- Change inserts and tooling as necessary
- Inspect parts for quality assurance
- Support production in multiple work assignments as needed.
- Meet established safety, quality, and production standards.
- Maintain good housekeeping during all phases of production
Additional Duties:
- Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
- Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
- Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ manufacturing experience operating manufacturing/production equipment; preferably manual and/or CNC machines
- Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
- Experience following written work instructions and blueprints.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products and ERP systems (vantage and/or E-10 preferred)
- May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.
- Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
- Familiarity with machining centers, metrology tools
- Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
- Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Able to work in a team environment, including being cross trained for multiple work assignments.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
