Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for daily management of the default and claims team providing leadership and guidance to the team. This includes collections, loss mitigation, loss mitigation claims, and related reporting. In conjunction with the Compliance Department, this individual is also responsible for ensuring strict compliance with investor guidelines and state/federal requirements. This position will also be responsible for the training, coaching and mentoring of staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage performance and compliance with GSE and GOVT guidelines, compensatory and bifurcation grids, FHA first legal deadlines and Investor/Client SLA's.
  • Prepares and sends reports to upper management on an as needed basis.
  • Acts as a liaison with other default related teams.
  • Reconcile claims proceeds and file supplemental claims as needed, and track deferments.
  • Develop and maintain metrics for processes.
  • Manage projects as needed and work with investors daily to provide responses to their requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage department staff to ensure daily assignments are completed on time.
  • Maintain delinquency rate within industry standards.
  • Review all servicing notes, monthly servicing reporting, timelines, supporting document, and claims detail to ensure all documentation is accurate and sufficient.
  • Identify areas of process improvement and assist with implementation.
  • Review and maintain timelines for claim due dates and other claim related deliverables.
  • Works closely with outsource vendors to ensure all timelines are met and data properly reflects the true loan status. Handles investor inquiries by responding to emails, working escalated matters, and setting up calls with firms and investors to resolve any issue.
  • Monitor and communicate servicing updates as required to maintain claim eligibility and adherence to guidelines.
  • Effectively execute the traditional managerial responsibilities of performance management, staffing, training, coaching conversations, directing, promoting, and motivating. Ensuring staff adheres to established policies, procedures, controls.
  • Ensure department and staff are adhering to all governing servicing regulations and investor requirements.

Performance Expectations:

  • Perform all actions in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Anticipate staffing issues, plan for staffing changes in advance, and complete monthly recruiting activities to hire high quality loan officers to fully staff the branch.
  • Encourage growth and provide training and cross-training opportunities for all associates.
  • Address performance issues in a timely manner and document incidents.
  • Manage the department to meet or exceed department financial metrics.
  • Provide a “WOW” experience and effectively communicate with associates, clients, partners, and vendors via phone, written communication, and/or in person.
  • Have knowledge about Evergreen’s mortgage processes and products in order to answer questions and support sales staff.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of Evergreen’s HR, Onboarding, Payroll, and accounting policies and systems and proactively consult applicable department when dealing with issues.
  • Understand the responsibilities of production and operations and act as a liaison between functions to develop collaborative team relationships so that loans close on time.
  • Set clear expectations for associates and help plan their personal and professional growth through routine, one-on-one monthly meetings with all direct reports, etc.
  • Exude a positive attitude, mentor associates, set a good example (this includes appropriate dress and demeanor).
  • Perform all actions in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Convictions of EHL.
  • Host regular and timely communication with associates.

Specific Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities Required for Position:

  • Good communication skills. Neat, clean, healthy work habits.
  • Project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Black Knight/MSP Servicing Software experience, a plus.
  • Ability to work well with fellow associates, clients and vendors.
  • Ability to pull data as well as analyze it in order ensure compliance with timelines.
  • Exercise good judgment and strong character, motivated, hard working.
  • Must be comfortable working in a start-up dynamic environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience handling residential defaulted loans servicing to include – bankruptcy, foreclosure and claims filing/remittance experience including knowledge of Ginnie Mae, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, USDA and VA servicing platforms and processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, occasionally noisy environment.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, sit climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • May be required to drive for business purposes and if so, must hold a driver’s license in good standing and maintain personal auto insurance in compliance with EHL’s Auto Insurance policy.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to speak and hear, lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds (25 lbs.) or occasionally more.
  • Requires all forms of dexterity and mobility throughout the shift.

Compensation:

The base annual range for this position is $56,307-$87,276, depending on a number of factors including location and experience.
