Logistics Team Leader Jobs

Job Responsibilities

Ensures Logistics team execute activities within site, national and international regulations where applicable.

• Is interface between supply chain and production at shop floor level ensuring material movement is in accordance with operational expectations.
• Manages and controls the transactional flow for all physical flows.
• Operate warehousing
• Ensures safe working environment.
• Develops and optimizes all physical and information flows using Lean principles (including company owned external warehouses).
• Manage returns; manage reverse logistics
• Operate outbound transportation
• Manages inbound and outbound freight with external providers, suppliers and customers.
• Ensures actual inventory accuracy and reliability (FIFO and Cycle counting etc)
• Defines and set up the physical organization of warehouses within site(s)
• Manages the team based on Employee Involvement principles
• Plan material handling and storage
• Organizes and control the internal transportation of material in order to assure the best service level and cost.
• Manages the workload of the area (receiving, shipping, internal movements, warehouse) and optimize the allocated resources.
• Plan and manage inbound material flow

Job Summary

Leads the Logistics Team Leaders in managing, operating and controlling all physical flows to, within and from the site(s). Manages the teams and process effectiveness of receiving operations, transport organising and planning, warehouse operations, management of physical inventory, internal logistics and outbound operations.

Ensures Logistics team execute activities within site, national and international regulations where applicable.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and expertise in Warehouse & Logistics processes to include Transport management, Internal Flows and Warehousing, Inventory Management, Customs and transport regulations, People Management
• GKN Experience
• Entry level for Transportation Management, Inbound / Outbound Flow, Internal Flow & Warehousing and End-to-End Supply Chain Mgt.
• APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management
