Job Summary
Leads the Logistics Team Leaders in managing, operating and controlling all physical flows to, within and from the site(s). Manages the teams and process effectiveness of receiving operations, transport organising and planning, warehouse operations, management of physical inventory, internal logistics and outbound operations.
Ensures Logistics team execute activities within site, national and international regulations where applicable.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manages inbound and outbound freight with external providers, suppliers and customers.
  • Manage inventory storage, location and movement
  • Organises and control the internal transportation of material in order to assure the best service level and cost.
  • Plan and manage inbound material flow
  • Manages the workload of the area (receiving, shipping, internal movements, warehouse) and optimise the allocated resources.
  • Overseas all Logistics processes in adherence within regulatory frameworks especially with regard to International trade and compliance
  • Is interface between supply chain and production at shop floor level ensuring material movement is in accordance with operational expectations.
  • Plan material handling and storage
  • Ensures safe working environment.
  • Manage kitting operations
  • Operate outbound transportation
  • Manages and controls the transactional flow for all physical flows.
  • Ensures actual inventory accuracy and reliability (FIFO and Cycle counting etc)
  • Develops and optimises all physical and information flows using Lean principles (including company owned external warehouses).
  • Operate warehousing
  • Manages the team based on Employee Involvement principles
  • The Logistics Team Leader is responsible for the following APQC items in the relevant site(s):
  • Defines and set up the physical organisation of warehouses within site(s)
  • Manage logistics and warehousing
  • Manage returns; manage reverse logistics
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Effective teamwork, integrity, negotiation, and collaboration skills
  • Business analytics, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Associate’s degree in supply chain or operations management discipline or five years of related experience in manufacturing companies
  • U.S. citizen
  • Effective planning, organizing, communication, and conflict management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
Additional Qualifications
  • APICS CPIM certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or operations management discipline or ten years of related experience in aerospace and defense product sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing
  • Certified Professional in Distribution and Warehousing (CPDW)
  • Training and development of team members
