Job Description
Overview


Seeking an energetic Logistics Coordinator to work as a part of our materials management and project management teams at the Cajun Industries Fabrication Facility in Port Allen, LA. In this role, you will be responsible for the receiving and shipping of all material for the Cajun Industries Fabrication Facility.


Responsibilities


  • Follow up with third party vendors to expedite material deliveries.
  • Coordinate the shipping of completed products by preparing the necessary shipping paperwork.
  • Check mill test reports to ensure material received matches the related material specifications.
  • Collect all receiving paperwork from the receiving crews and ensure data is appropriately entered into our database. Contact vendors for any missing paperwork.
  • Work directly with our purchasing group and project management group to expedite material with our vendors.
  • Coordinate schedules with third party vendors and our field personnel to ensure material is shipping to meet our customer deadlines.
  • Coordinate delivery of raw materials directly with our vendors to ensure timely and accurate receipt of material.
  • Update material and shipping status in our software system.

Qualifications


Physical


  • Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel
  • Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
  • Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms
  • Will need to perform sedentary to heavy work
  • Experience in a materials management environment with a focus on logistics is preferred. Must have experience using Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of pipe, valve and fittings inventory is a big plus.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds


Mental


  • Ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices
  • Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details
  • Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision
  • Ability to use math/complete calculations
  • Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
