Job Description
Summary
Maximus is seeking a Lead Specialist-Ethics & Compliance who will work on an enterprise-wide basis. We're seeking an individual with experience handling concerns regarding ethical standards of conduct and employee relations investigations, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.
Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis from evidence pertaining to the investigation.
  • Provide guidance and support in various HR-related areas such as hiring, onboarding, benefits, compensation, wellness, employee engagement, performance management, leave management, accommodations, company driven changes, disciplinary actions, harassment allegations, work complaints, employee concerns or grievances, terminations and unemployment claims in accordance with company's policies and procedures including complex escalations.
  • Communicate with and assist Compliance, Human Resources, Legal Department, and Programs to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the investigation process and/or communications/recommendations pertinent to the organization’s employees/business.
  • Manage the investigation process from initial intake through closure, ensuring that the investigation is executed in a timely and sensitive manner while having the highest levels of integrity, respect, and efficiency throughout the process.Gather and analyze data to aid in the investigation.
  • Conduct interviews with witnesses and subjects of the investigation.
  • Adjudication Team, review background investigations, dialogue, court documents, vote hire/no hire decisions, 9 Factor NYC Regulations.
  • Ensure compliance and maintain current knowledge of employment and labor laws, including, but not limited to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Service Contract Act (SCA).
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and/or regulations.
  • Assist with Special Projects, Develop/Update Company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) populations preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and people management skills .
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook .
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently .
  • Conflict resolution, critical thinking,and ability to write and communicate data in a complete and concise manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
  • At least five (5) years Human Resources Generalist work experience required .
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of human resources practices, techniques, and standards .
  • Ability to manage high level of confidentiality and experience handling PII and PHI .
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience; Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate facts, handle sensitive information, multitask multiple investigations and projects.
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • 5 years of experience facilitating ethical standards of conduct/employee relations investigations is required.
  • Empathy and ability to de-escalate situations is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
