Summary The Lead Specialist – Compliance & Regulatory will be a core member of the GE Aerospace Ombuds team that leads development and implementing an overall strategy for the Open Reporting program at GE Aerospace. The Lead Specialist – Compliance & Regulatory will be a lawyer or Compliance professional, responsible for ensuring prompt logging and assignment of investigations, assisting with open investigations including projects to reduce case aging and reporting themes, mentoring a network of >80 part-time site Ombuds, and preventing overdue corrective actions for a variety of matters involving alleged violations of: law, GE Aerospace policy, non-policy matters, and/or assistance answering compliance questions.
- Lead projects related to reducing case aging, gaining ombuds efficiencies/lean, and preventing corrective actions from becoming overdue.
- Partner and mentor network of >80 part-time site Ombuds.
- Lead and handle independent case logging and issuance.
- Ability to i dentify and understand trends; analyze and report out on such trends and thereby enable the organization to respond in a timely and proactive manner .
- Conduct concern raiser intakes as needed.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Ombuds, workplace investigations, compliance, law, internal audit, controllership, or related field.
- Professional fluency in English is required .
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university .
- Strong oral and written communication skills .
- Strong skillset in Power Point and Excel .
- Proven ability to digest large amounts of information and distill it into the essential elements .
- Process and detail-oriented, including strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize .
- Experience performing difficult conversations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills .
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at various levels of the organization .
- High level of cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional intelligence in order to work effectively within GE Aerospace’ s multicultural environment .
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, proven ability to clearly and concisely prepare, present, and discuss findings and recommendations at a senior level and produce clear and compelling report .
- Highest personal integrity with demonstrate ability to handle confidential matters in a discreet and respectful manner .
- Self-motivated with ability to handle a large and varied caseload simultaneously, to multitask, and to work independently with minimal supervision .
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire trust .
- Ability to interface effectively with senior business and functional leaders throughout the organization .
- Proven analytical and evaluation skills .
