About This Role
The Wells Fargo Digital Design Innovation team creates experiences that empower our customers in Commercial Banking (CB) and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) to manage their company's relationship with Wells Fargo confidently and securely and support their business operations. We are passionate about customer-centric designs and work closely with Product and Technology partners to ensure our vision and designs are outcome-oriented and deliver value to our customers and our business. Wells Fargo is completely transforming the digital experience for our Commercial, Corporate and Investment Banking customers. To be successful at this scale, our design system - Pioneer - is mission-critical to enable success. Pioneer is well-funded by the organization and has strong executive support. We are endeavoring to evolve and modernize our current design foundations to usher in a new generation of digital capabilities.
The Role
We're seeking a Lead Product Designer to join our industry-leading design system team to create intuitive digital solutions for our customers and fulfill our purpose of holistic digital experiences for commercial, corporate, and investment banking. As a Lead Product Designer for the Pioneer Design System, you will utilize your full range of product design skills (interaction design, visual design, design thinking, user research) in exploring, proposing, and developing the building blocks for world-class experiences. Our designers are highly collaborative and partner with product owners, technology, design peers and partners to seek feedback, gain insights and ensure design solutions are elegant, scalable, and technically feasible. You'll be leading insights-driven design efforts with a lean UX and agile approach to delivery. Key responsibilities include engaging with partners and customers to connect experience insights with design outcomes, crafting design solutions, consulting on design direction with peers and partners, delivering supporting artifacts, and contributing to Agile planning and ceremonies. And in close partnership with Product and Technology leads, you will prioritize, plan, and organize the flow of design work and sprints to support design system releases.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have proven performance as an inventive and collaborative experience designer who understands how to work in a complex ecosystem and partner to deliver transformative customer experiences. This designer will understand how to bring customer perspectives and needs into the conversation with partners to overcome internal roadblocks to experience excellence. Critical success factors include the
ability to navigate effectively in a complex organization, develop partnerships with many stakeholders and lead through influence. Key traits are a natural curiosity, strong initiative to seek solutions, openness to feedback and dedication to growth and learning. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement. This role also requires demonstrated experience bring teams and perspective together to prioritize and delivery design outcomes.
In This Role, You Will
  • Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholder
  • Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead complex initiatives including those that provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
  • Be accountable for overseeing the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
  • Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations and participate in roadmap planning and virtual teams
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Develop and execute customer experience solutions for online applications and websites
  • Lead customer experience strategy for platforms and products
  • Serve as design advocate with the ability to forecast and assess industry trends and their impact on the company's product design alternatives
  • Review and analyze complex industry leading user interface design solutions that require the evaluation of multiple factors
  • Build and enhance working relationships within the information and interface design function and community outside of the company
  • Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations
  • Make decisions in customer experience strategy for platforms and products requiring understanding of the function and compliance requirements
  • Manage the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to energize and motivate others; thrives in teams; highly inclusive and collaborative with proven ability to lead through influence vs. authority
  • Experience working effectively within a standards-aligned design environment and knowing when to push design system boundaries as necessary
  • An abundance of enthusiasm for the mission of a healthy design system
  • Experience with strategic planning and diagrammatic skills (Information Architecture), low fidelity wireframe production, high-fidelity design comp production, and design interaction specifications
  • Familiarity with iterative and Agile development processes and knowledge of application layer design and front-end code frameworks (React, jQuery, etc.)
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, garner feedback, incorporate new ideas and communicate effectively and persuasively when conveying design solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: product managers, engineers, customers, etc.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to shape and drive work independently
  • Experience driving a customer experience change using data and storytelling
  • Expertise in design craft, including information architecture, information design, design specification, and instructional design documentation with command of common design tools, most notably Figma, Sketch, and InVision
  • Systems thinker with prior experience designing for and planning work within a design system for digital products in a complex product ecosystem

$115,900.00 - $206,100.00 Annual
