Our is looking for a QA Lead to join our Operations Optimization team within the Research and Development organization. The mission of the Operations Optimization team is to inform and optimize the design of warehouse solutions through data-driven modeling and advanced algorithm development and to enable the organization to leverage these solutions through the creation of robust and user-focused design and analysis tools.

As a QA Lead, you will partner with our software architect and Devops engineer to design and develop a software testing framework that adheres to best practices and drives toward an error free and reliable software product. You will write and execute manual and automated tests to ensure product quality, advising on the design and implementation of tests, and process to debug and make corrective actions. You play a vital role in the company’s product development process. You will be responsible ensuring the project is tested before launches to ensure that the product is free from errors and reliable.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including education on quality assurance concepts and best practices
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Work closely with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
• Emphasize quality and user focus, inspiring others
• Select mature tools and frameworks for effectively setting up the QA processes environments.
• Utilize Agile software development methods and encourage best practices
• Monitor debugging process results
• Be familiar with testing tools and methodologies.
• Take active part in development/QA activities to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Define standard development/QA process from scratch and educate the team on the best practices to maintain high quality software development process.
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using testing tools.
• Identify, record, document and track bugs using respective tools.
• Perform regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defects.
• Design and develop a comprehensive test framework to ensure quality.
• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedbacks.

Requirements:

Required:

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Passion for creating something new and proactively meeting user needs
• Proven work experience in software development
• Willingness to solve problems and think creatively
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
• Experience with version control systems (git, mercurial or others)
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Experience with Agile software development
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without much supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of Python programming
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance

Preferred:

• Experience in warehousing and supply chain
• Experience developing and testing discrete event simulation models
• Experience in operations research or industrial engineering
