Lead Compositor Jobs

The lead compositor’s primary responsibility is overseeing a team of compositors to deliver final rendered shots to conform for the assigned episodes. The lead compositor works closely with the compositing director to maintain a continuity of vision; and to keep the work within the scope of the production.

Estimated start: Late June

Weekly Salary: $1200-1280

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the final compositing of every shot of the assigned episodes, from the availability of assets, until the episode is submitted to final post.
• Review renders from Comp Team and give notes.
• Collaborate on benchmark shots and gather visual reference at the request of the compositing director.
• Assist with finding and hiring new talent, when applicable, for the Comp Team.
• Create, acquire, and make easy to follow workflows and templates to ensure efficiency and quality for the team.
• Work with the compositing director to train and mentor the compositing team on techniques developed in the R & D phase.
• At the direction of the compositing director polish and finesse shots prior to final delivery, including reviewing final color pass, and addressing all QC notes.
• Check and approve the team’s time using ADP software.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Capable of consistently executing strong visual shots (lighting, composition, effects) in the show style.
• Must have excellent organizational skills
• Ability to effectively read, interpret and breakdown storyboards and animatics
• Must have a thorough understanding of the Harmony pipeline as well as how it impacts and effects other departments
• Must have excellent knowledge of BlackMagic Fusion, and working knowledge of ftrack, Google Suite products and Adobe products.
• Must be dedicated to keeping the team motivated by supporting them and fostering a positive environment
• Must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully to the compositing team members as well as staff and directors in other departments
• 1-2 years of experience working as a compositor
• Must be able to switch between tasks at a moments notice
• Receives and relays direction with a collaborative approach, seeking clarity or presenting options when necessary, and forming concrete solutions for the team.

• Must be able to provide authorization to work in the US.
• Must be current resident of Georgia. (no exceptions)
• Must be able to provide proof of COVID vaccination and boosters.
