As a Landscaping Crew Member, you will provide a variety of landscape activities on behalf of Medxcel throughout the assigned working location of St. Vincent's - Indianapolis, IN. Responsibilities will include planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation. You may also operate lawn mowers and related equipment and will assist Facilities Maintenance staff on projects as assigned.

General Landscaping

• Maintains assigned equipment and notifies Landscaping Supervisor of needed repairs
• Uses lawn mower and related equipment
• Digs holes and trenches and excavates for landscaping and hardscaping using picks and shovels or related equipment
• Assist Facilities Maintenance staff on projects as assigned
• Performs snow removal activities as assigned, such as shoveling, salting, etc.
• Hand-finishes grade, and applies seed, straw, or sod
• Provides seasonal lawn care, such as spring and fall clean-up
• Hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakes
• Loads equipment and materials on and off trucks and trailers
• Responds politely to customer inquiries and projects a professional image
• Performs planting and related activities
• Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the Landscaping Supervisor
• Performs routine lawn maintenance including grass cutting, lawn edging, weed pulling, and other routine lawn-maintenance activities
• Moves materials and equipment and performs related duties to assist in landscaping and hardscaping

Chemical Treatments

• Applies chemicals under the direction of a licensed chemical applicator

Education and Work Experience

• State Driver’s License and insurable with company’s agent preferred
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Some High School or Equivalent required

Knowledge

• Candidate must be able to read and write in English required
• Experience in the landscaping field is preferred
