Land Survey Technician - AJS, Inc

Are you a skilled Land Surveyor seeking an opportunity to join a San Diego based land survey company? AJS, Inc is searching for a talented individual to join our collaborative and autonomous team. We take pride in delivering high-quality survey solutions to our clients, and we are looking for a dedicated candidate who can transform field data into client deliverables effectively.

Responsibilities:

As a Survey Technician at AJS, your primary responsibilities will include:

Effectively communicating the project scope to field crews

Processing LiDAR imagery to generate orthophotos and point clouds

Performing control adjustments to field data using Trimble Business Center (TBC)

Registering and processing 3D laser scan data to generate point clouds and linework

Reviewing field notes and data to identify errors in field techniques or procedures

Creating 3D surfaces in Civil 3D for topographic surveys

Drafting topographic surveys using provided templates, incorporating planimetric data, contours, and spot elevations

Preparing utility surveys, utilizing DIP data, paint mark out, and above-ground utility facility information

Generating staking calculations and cut sheets

Conducting records research in any county in California

Preparing plats and legal descriptions

Creating basemaps from record maps

Additional Skills Required:

In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate should possess the following skills:

Ability to efficiently direct field crews and provide clear instructions for survey operations.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Timble Business Center, and Microsoft Suite

Education and Experience:

Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) Certification or equivalent, preferred.

Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) software is highly desirable.

Prior experience in survey work within the state of California is required.
