ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: searching for three Part-Time Lab Animal Technician to provide on-call support for students studying required American Veterinary Medical Association Laboratory Animal Procedures in pursuit of their Veterinary Technician program.

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

This Part-Time (on-Call) Laboratory Animal Technician will work with a team (2 other staff) on providing technical skills required by the AVMA for students studying within an accredited veterinary technician certification program. Handling skills will include restrain of mouse/rat/rabbit, rodent oral exam, sexing of mouse/rat/rabbit, cage set-up, identify nutritional needs/diet, perform subcutaneous and intraperitoneal injections, intravenous blood collections and perform oral dosing in rodents.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, California Registered Veterinary Technician license and laboratory animal experience.
