Role Overview
We are looking for:
  • Individuals who can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Applicants with prior internship experience in a chemistry lab or related field.
  • Lab Techs to support the Research and Innovation division within Solvay's laboratories.
  • Candidates with familiarity in testing procedures in at least one product line such as production chemicals, fracturing fluids, cementing, and/or acidizing.
  • Individuals with at least 1 year of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Applicants with knowledge of lab testing and analytical equipment & software.
  • Candidates with excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Individuals with proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
We count on you for:
  • Setting up and running specified tests according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assisting in the daily operations of the lab, performing maintenance functions and completing non-technical and technical routine laboratory tests under the direction of professional staff.
  • Communicating and formalizing test results to clients, colleagues, and managers.
  • Following company policies and complying with all applicable safety regulations and procedures.
  • Preparing samples for shipping and delivery to clients.
  • Monitoring lab chemical inventory and replenishing necessary chemicals as required by SOP or Lab Manager.
  • Compiling and interpreting test data, establishing conclusions, and writing reports using CEMLAB and Microsoft Office.
  • Conducting cement tests, stimulation tests, and various general chemistry lab techniques.
  • Performing other duties assigned by manager and project tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Scheduling, maintaining, and calibrating lab test equipment to ensure accurate and safe use.

You will bring:
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $40,000 to $60,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
