Position Classification: Full-time Regular. This is an 18 month long temporary assignment.

About This Opportunity

The Korean-English interpreter will be the responsible for accurately translating both verbal and written content for Rockford Construction Team Members and stakeholders throughout the organization. You will provide accurate interpretation services between Korean and English speakers, maintaining the meaning, tone and context of the original message.

Requirements

• Other related duties as assigned.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong emotional, social and culture intelligence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
• Native or near-native proficiency in both Korean and English languages, with exceptional oral and written communication skills in both languages.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Willing to perform simultaneous interpretation during meetings on Zoom conference calls or in-person.

Type of Environment

The work environment for this position requires that the individual work at the construction site. Varied amounts of travel and time away from home should be expected as a requirement of this position. Extended stays away from home may result depending on the location of the project in proximity to the individual’s home.

The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction including high temperatures, humidity, cold temperatures, and climbing stairs and ladders. Other examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subject to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Lifting of 50 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing will be necessary to perform the requirements of this position. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including proper footwear, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection (if applicable), high visibility vest and/or other special clothing shall be worn on construction sites at all times unless otherwise specified.
