Staff Accountant


We are a fast-growing, cutting-edge eyewear company located in Miami, Florida. We are currently seeking an ambitious Staff Accountant to provide support to our financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. As part of a team of professionals, you will play a vital role in maintaining financial order and transparency within the company. Preparing financial statements and reports will be a significant aspect of the junior accountant's day-to-day responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles, comfortable working with numbers, and possess great attention to detail. This position is instrumental in executing the company's strategic growth plan.


Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close process.
  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements, providing insights to management.
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks.
  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliations.
  • Participate in compliance activities, including interaction with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies.
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrate in-depth experience with month-end balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare comprehensive journal entries and account reconciliations, including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll.
  • Perform month-end close procedures and generate journal entries with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, fixed assets, and inventory ledgers.
  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, presenting it in a useful and understandable manner.
  • Undertake ad-hoc reporting and contribute to special projects, as requested.


Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience using QuickBooks, including AP & AR processing, report generation, and journal entry completion.
  • Preferably, some exposure to Ecommerce operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2-3 years of general ledger experience.

In addition to the outlined responsibilities, we are also looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented, proactive, and has strong analytical skills. The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment is essential. Experience with financial software and advanced Excel skills would be considered advantageous
