Megan Grehl Design Studio is composed of international, passionate, fearless women who are collectively proficient in English, Mandarin, French, Spanish, and Arabic. We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Junior Designer. This candidate should have strong graphic design skills, and product design skills. You must have an entrepreneurial mindset, be able to work independently, and have the ability to thrive in a small office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop designs in collaboration with the design team
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with the design team.
- Coordinate project activities, including scheduling meetings, managing project documentation, and ensuring projects stay on schedule
- Pick up samples, meet with contractors on site
- Foster positive communication and relationships with clients
Qualifications:
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Extremely proficient in SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCad, and Adobe Suite. Any additional 3D model software is a plus (Revit, Maya, etc)
- Creative profile, identification, and sensitivity to Megan Grehl’s aesthetics.
- Strong product design skills - strong knowledge of materiality and detailing.
- Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills in English and Spanish proficiency a plus
- Spanish speaker is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, and staff
- Must be based in Miami, FL
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
- At least two years of experience
- Proficient in 3D rendering including Enscape and VRay (Lumion or any other is a plus)
- You would benefit from working directly with the principal and learning how to run the business
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
All candidates considered for this role will be required to complete 3 screening tests. These 3 tests will take roughly 16 hours (or 2 working days) to complete. They will cover the following areas:
- Product design knowledge related to materiality and detailing
- Graphic design and layout abilities using Adobe Suite
- Technical SketchUp and AutoCad proficiency
