Associate Designer - Sleepwear And Loungewear

This position is based in Miami, FL. Candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Miami.

The Role

The Associate Designer will have an integral role in the support and efficiency of the design team processes and ways of working. Must have the ability to work independently and support the design team for results; adhere to calendar to meet deadlines and drive results in a timely manner.

What you’ll do:

• Help to create color cads and maintain internal development documents
• Recolor prints, align on scale, help to create art instructions for prints/stripes/embroidery layout
• Support Designer Manager in creation of design cards and BOMs
• Participate in market/trend research including color, fabric, silhouette, and details for the season. Assist in building seasonal mood boards for concept, raw materials, print, market research
• Maintain PLM & and keep linesheets up to date throughout season and following fittings/market updates. Submit labdips, upload artwork, update BOMs
• Manage packages to remote team
• Help support photoshoot – make sure all samples are correct, steamed and in order before shoot
• Attend design team and cross functional meetings and fittings, taking detailed notes. Communicate recaps to relevant teams
• Help to create and update sketches in Illustrator with all style details needed.
• Work with PD to maintain the resource library; uploading and sending photos of new raw materials or seasonal developments.
• Assist in creating market documents and swatches for sales presentations/line review (Market Prep)
• Under guidance of design manager, designing 1-2 fabric groups per season
• Adhere to seasonal time and action calendar to meet deliverables
• Update change log and advise cross-functional teams if design changes effects photography
• Organize presentation boards and assist in the preparation for meetings
• Manage Design Master Samples set
