Job Description
Overview:

As a Demand and Inventory Planner at QSC Pro Audio, the individual will play a crucial role in optimizing supply chain operations and ensuring efficient inventory management. The individual’s primary responsibility will be to forecast sales demand with high accuracy and develop comprehensive inventory plans to meet product availability targets while minimizing excess stock and shortages. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the individual will analyze sales data, market trends, and supply schedules to drive data-driven decisions that enhance supply chain performance. The individual’s expertise in demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain coordination will be instrumental in supporting the company's growth and providing customers with exceptional product availability and service levels. Base Pay Range 103,000 - 135,000


The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to oversee demand review, process alignment, and host regular meetings to reach a global consensus forecast (rolling 24-month unconstrained demand plan).
  • Translate the unconstrained demand plan into SKU-level operational forecasts for the Supply Chain. Identify operational risks, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Maintain and publish key performance metrics, conduct root cause analysis, recommend actions, gain alignment, and implement corrective measures.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction and lead the development of a consensus forecast for new item launches, from ideation to market commercialization to post-launch stabilization.
  • Work closely with sales, sales operations, demand planning, and supply planning to achieve consensus on target stocking positions for Finished Goods at various distribution centers.
  • Collaborate with demand planning, project teams, and sales to develop inventory strategies for sustaining, new, and End-of-Life (EOL) products or items.
  • Collaborate closely with IT/Business Analyst to update and maintain the Inventory Management business intelligence dashboard, ensuring data relevance and accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage risks related to low stock, stockouts, excess and obsolete items. Collaborate with supply planning for inventory optimization and redeployment.
  • Review and maintain safety stock based on Zone Service level goals, lead-time, etc., in collaboration with the team and Sales input.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile forecast variances and refine the forecast model to incorporate updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Consolidate and report the overall forecast at multiple levels of aggregation for various time horizons.
  • Maintain and publish daily, weekly, and monthly inventory KPIs, such as inventory value, inventory turnover, weeks of supply, and target inventory by inventory type (Finished Goods vs. Raw Materials), product line, model line, and individual SKU items.
  • Take the lead in supply chain for managing overstock, excess, and obsolete inventory. Oversee the disposition process.
  • Lead Demand Control to communicate, coordinate, and align action plans to support near-term material constraints due to abnormal or over-consumed sales order demand against the demand plan.
  • Define and manage the process of reviewing historical data, such as sales trends and seasonal trends. Research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Create inventory slides and commentary for any required presentations, covering values, turnover, notable changes, weeks of supply, etc.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization to develop inventory strategies for existing items, new items, and product run-downs.
  • Lead all global demand planning activities for QSC Pro Audio.
  • Lead the refinement and enhancement of forecasting processes and systems to improve results, including demand planning, customer service, and operational metrics.
  • Perform financial risk assessments on inventory positions based on aging/non-moving products.
Qualifications:
  • Practical knowledge of stats packages (i.e. SAS, SPSS or similar) and/or forecasting tools (i.e. E2OPEN (Steelwedge), SAP/APO, Manugistics, Demantra or similar)
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on statistical forecasting, modeling, inventory management and control systems
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with ERP system such as Oracle or SAP/R3
  • Thorough understanding of demand planning and supply chain concepts
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a high SKU seasonal business
  • Proven ability to lead, facilitate, and influence others
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related experience in Business, Supply Management, Statistic, or other mathematics related field
  • Strong problem solving, math, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills
