Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Cybersecurity Data Analyst to join our team! As the Cybersecurity Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex cybersecurity data sets to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that data analysis is performed accurately, and insights are provided to enhance the organization's security posture. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security logs, conducting data-driven investigations, and generating reports to communicate findings and recommendations to relevant teams. Additionally, you will collaborate with cybersecurity professionals, business analysts, and end-users to develop and implement customized solutions to strengthen the organization's security defenses, including the design and integration of workflows and data analytics tools.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to develop strategies and implement solutions to mitigate security risks.
- Maintain a POA&M (Plan of Action and Milestones) to track and manage identified security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
- Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Generate reports and visualizations to communicate security findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents through data analysis.
- Perform regular security data monitoring and analysis to detect and investigate abnormal activities or patterns.
- Run and interpret ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) scans to assess the security posture of network infrastructure and systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with security logs, system logs, and other relevant data sources.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and technologies.
- Must have an active DoD SecretClearance
- Experience in conducting data-driven investigations and responding to security incidents.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, Python, R, or Tableau.
- Experience working with ACAS (Assured Compliance Assessment Solution) for vulnerability assessments.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Cyber certifications, such as Security+, CEH, GCIH, or CISSP
The compensation range for this position: $65k-$85k annually.
