We are looking for
We are searching for a Junior Community Manager to join our developer-facing social media team that is responsible for managing 40+ social channels that reach millions of developers worldwide.
As a Junior Community Manager, you will be responsible for crafting and posting social media responses to comments on our Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram channels. Under the guidance of our Engagement Manager, you’ll familiarize yourself with the specific needs of each products’ community to help you create positive interactions with commenters and increase engagement across channels. Our goal is to make sure the developer community feels supported as they comment, ask questions, or make suggestions on our channels.
Our Junior Community Managers are familiar with social media best practices and have personal and/or professional experience posting to Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. They understand the nuances of each platform when posting replies, including proper formatting, use of emojis/hashtags, and link etiquette. In this role, you will also do some comment moderation and will, unfortunately, encounter comments that are hateful to other members of the community (trolls!). We’ll need these handled in a professional manner and escalated as needed in order to keep our community safe.
A developer background is not required or expected, but is a definite plus if you have it!
This is a temporary full-time remote position that begins in July and runs through December 2023. Working hours will align with either the PT or ET time zone, depending on the candidates location.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to comments across the Twitter, LinkedIn,Instagram, and other social channels of our products and programs:
- As part of the Community Engagement team:
- Flag any technically complex questions to our stakeholders and work with them to draft responses
- Flag any trending community concerns to stakeholders, as needed.
- Write clear, accurate, on-brand, and engaging responses to community comments/questions
- Follow processes to handle comments from “trolls”, including hiding or deleting extreme comments that could be offensive to our community members.
- Work with the Engagement Manager to pull quarterly reports on engagement activities
- Secure social content approvals from stakeholders as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Professional and/or personal experience posting to Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Experience using GSuite
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with social management and analytics tools, like Sprinklr and Later
- Comfortable writing copy for an audience of millions
- Understands software technologies and web development
- A desire to engage with the developer ecosystem and learn about new product areas and technologies
- Desire to work on a creative, collaborative and data-driven team
- Obsessed with social platforms and digital storytelling
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 USD.
