Job Description

BLA Schwartz, PC specializes in business litigation and dispute resolution in Massachusetts, California and New York. We seek to meet our clients' objectives through aggressive, creative and cost-effective problem-solving across a variety of dispute resolution settings, including federal and state courts, arbitration and mediation.


We are seeking a Litigation Associate with 1 to 3 years of experience to work in our Westwood Massachusetts office.Responsibilities include legal research, drafting, editing and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings; working with complex digital and paper client files; assisting in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials; working with a paralegal to maintain the firm calendar with deadlines for each case pursuant to applicable state, federal and/or local rules; investigating potential securities litigation cases; and tracking progress and deadlines in securities litigation matters. This position will also support DIVIDEX Management, LLC, a registered investment advisor. Position available to start May 25, 2023 with opportunity to advance upon demonstrated competence.


Requirements

  • Strong legal research and legal writing abilities
  • Strong computer skills, including Westlaw, Word, Excel, and Bloomberg
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong references
  • Judicial clerkship, internship or courthouse experience preferred
