Jr. Security Engineer Jobs

Develops and manages information security for IT functional areas (e.g., data, systems, network and/or Web) across the enterprise. Performs the implementation, configuration, support, and use of security monitoring and reporting tools and software. Identifies the strategies necessary to maintain and improve security and monitoring controls. Recognizes and investigates problems with security software. Supports the design, development and, maintenance of information security systems and applications. Helps identify security risks and exposures and recommends solutions. Works with Security vendors to maintain IT Security's current suite of testing tools, and provide information on expansion and replacement of these tools as it becomes necessary.

Core Job Duties

• Analyzes and recommends security controls and procedures in business processes related to information systems and assets, and monitors compliance
• Develops and administers or provides advice, evaluation, and oversight for, information security training and awareness programs
• Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware
• Administers authentication and access controls, including provisioning, changes, and deprovisioning of user and system accounts, security/access roles, and access permissions to information assets
• Design and lead the vulnerability management and change and configuration management programs
• Architects, designs, implements, maintains and operates information system security controls and countermeasures
• Analyzes and develops information security governance, including organizational policies, procedures, standards, baselines, and guidelines concerning information security and the use and operation of information systems
• Responds to information system security incidents, including investigation of, countermeasures to, and recovery from computer-based attacks, unauthorized access, and policy breaches; interact and coordinate with third-party incident responders, including law enforcement
• Analyzes and recommends security controls and procedures in the acquisition, development, and change management lifecycle of information systems, and monitors for compliance
• Monitors information systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities; develops monitoring and visibility capabilities; reports on incidents, vulnerabilities, and trends

Requirements

Junior Security Engineer Skills and Experience

Education:

• Knowledge in networking, databases, systems and web operations
• Data loss prevention
• Incident response
• Deployment, administration and, implementation of security controls and technologies
• Web content filtering
• Reporting
• Team player able to work across multiple functions and disciplines
• 2 or more years of experience with information security
• Privileged identity management
• Ability to research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware products
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Experience with these technologies/systems:
• Strong attention to detail
• Bachelor's Degree Required (computer science, information systems, information security, or other industry-related curriculum)
• Metrics
• Experience in security administration
• Cloud security
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Antivirus
• Additional IT experience a plus
• Industry standard security certifications a plus (CISSP, SSCP, Security+, CEH, CCNA)
