It Project Manager, Senior

Job Summary

As the Senior IT Project Manager, you will oversee projects of various sizes, complexity, and impact to successful completion; assembles cross-functional teams; gains sponsor buy-in; and plans, budgets, executes, and adheres to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle, delivering projects on time and within budgetary requirements. This position works with internal and external customers, vendors, and stakeholders to establish appropriate requirements and ensure targets are met. You will collaborate with Portfolio Managers to ensure projects are appropriately prioritized and in scope. You will effectively documents business cases, charters, work breakdown structures, and other supporting documentation. You will also ensures utilization of appropriate risk management, quality standards, project tracking, and value realization.

This will be a hybrid position where most of your week will be spent remotely with one (1) day on campus.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

• Four (4) - Five (5) years of experience in project management, portfolio management, IT, project management, and/or successfully leading projects from initiation through closure required
• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, management, or related field
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted

Skills Needed:

• Ability to analyze, interpret, communicate, and adhere to university and funding agencies policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
• Must possess the knowledge and soft skills to be a leading member of a team, to provide feedback, to train others, and to assign applicable duties
• Knowledge of project management with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and complete projects with supervision
• Must have the ability to take initiative, problem solve, collaborate, and work as a team player
• Evidence of strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to complete multiple tasks in a busy environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the skill required to deliver information to audiences of varying professional levels and technological sophistications while appropriately addressing feedback
