Job Description
Overview:
Collins Engineers, Inc. provides design and analysis services coupled with field experience to the transportation, marine, construction, and land development industries. The Chicago, IL office has an opening for an Information Technology Intern position for the Summer of 2023. We are looking for a college student who is passionate about technology and service excellence with a future career goal of working in information technology. This role will support our teams around the country by utilizing IT operations monitoring and management tools to provide technical troubleshooting oversight, setting up new computer configurations, vendor and employee interactions, maintenance, and system updates. This position will also provide support for ongoing IT projects.
Position Description:

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Sets up new workstations.
  • Assists staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Installs and troubleshoots problems with office software systems, including installing new applications, installing upgrades and assisting users to solve software problems.
  • Provides help desk support.
  • Conducts inventory of all technological equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience with the following software is a plus:
    • Microsoft Windows Server
    • Windows PowerShell ISE
    • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Freshman or sophomore working towards a bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field from an accredited four-year university.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Microsoft Windows
  • Windows PowerShell ISE
  • Must have experience with the following software:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Microsoft Windows
