The Global Information and Services IT team is at the forefront of digitalization to enable and advance the entire company, with increased productivity and best-in-class Customer experiences. This team provides a robust and sustainable infrastructure of hardware, software and services that are critical to enable our global workforce and business to operate and transform. As leaders in technology and understanding business requirements and challenges, this team defines and leads the overall company technology strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing

Cloud Engineers solve exciting problems and have a desire to make a large-scale impact. You will work in our Microsoft Azure or AWS areas, providing the technical expertise and leadership to turn ideas and concepts into solutions. Building and implementing repeatable patterns, infrastructure as code, templates, blueprints, and accelerators are vital to this position. You will help Lilly accelerate the adoption of cloud services across the organization. We have multiple opportunities for cloud engineers to further develop cloud security, cloud infrastructure, and cloud enablement capabilities and skills.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Be Bold - You will bring a high learning agility and Cloud Engineer skills to help enable the Lilly Technology strategy, identifying tech opportunities, and accelerate our cloud journey.
  • Be Your Best - You will learn about new technologies, Infrastructure as Code, and Enterprise Scale Hyper Cloud providers, agile ways of working, and willingness to become an expert.
  • Be Proactive - You will have innovative opportunities to help us create secure, resilient, and reliable cloud services using proactive, predictive, and automated capabilities.
  • Be Fast - You will accelerate initiatives in areas such as: cloud security, cloud infrastructure, high performance computing or enablement of critical business projects.

What You Should Bring (preferred skills)

  • Proven track record of high quality, agile focused, team-based solution delivery.
  • Demonstrable experiment in languages and tools such as Python, JSON, YAML, ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Git
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and an ability to work across global and diverse teams.
  • Technical expertise and leadership to turn ideas and concepts into solutions. Cloud certifications are a bonus, or we are willing to help you complete your certification.
  • Optimize, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure components such as Accounts/Subscriptions, networking, and security services.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud computing platforms

Your Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field OR
  • 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of experience as an IT professional
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
