Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
  • Assists in the training of junior investment staff
  • Acts as a liaison with external partners and serves as point of contact on relationships for a segment of the assigned portfolios
  • Assists leadership team with constructing portfolios that demonstrate a risk profile appropriate for ACG as an enterprise and for specific entities across the organization
  • Maintains systems and tools that are utilized for organizing deal flow/pipeline, databases, portfolio monitoring, etc.
  • Supports leadership team with analytical, research, and operational efforts as required on a wide range of topics and/or issues.
  • Closely monitors markets and economic data to identify risks and opportunities for the investment portfolio at large and recommends actions to senior team members to improve risk management and investment performance.
  • Facilitates reconciliation of portfolio/manager compliance and operational issues for assigned portfolios.
  • Prepares manager and portfolio monitoring reports and presents summaries and conclusions to the Investment Team
  • Participates in the due diligence/underwriting of private and public assets by conducting research, risk/reward analysis, site visits, etc.
  • Collaborates with internal teams, including Legal, Tax, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Investment Administration/Operations, and Enterprise Risk Management; ensures clear and prompt communication with these teams as needed for assigned portfolios
  • Participates in the oversight/monitoring of assigned managers via frequent meetings/calls, performance attribution analyses, compliance oversight, etc.
  • Reviews and refines forecasts, capital calls, compliance reports, subscription documents, and other analyst work products; participates in preparation of such items as needed
  • Assists in the composition of Investment Memos for recommended investments
II. Required Qualifications
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
Alternative Assets
Experience:
Participation in the due diligence process for investments in equity and alternative asset classes such as private equity, real estate, real assets, private credit
Support of research, trading and/or portfolio management roles
Generalist mindset with strong analytical skills and ability to act in an entrepreneurial setting
Familiarity or experience with legal review processes and subscription documentation Experience with capital call processes
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years investment experience supporting investment management or research functions.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Independent thinking and proactive combined with strong teamwork skills
  • Strong foundational knowledge of economics, investment markets, security attributes, and accounting applications
  • Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills and initiative to drive progress and support decision making at the leadership level
  • Strong research, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills regarding both qualitative and quantitative thoughts and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) with particular expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with financial, accounting, planning and budgeting processes
III. Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or CFA candidate
  • Insurance industry knowledge/experience
  • Bloomberg software experience
