Job Summary
The primary purpose of this job is to ensure the integrity of the inventory at Rite Aid Distribution Centers and to ensure Controls/SOX compliance is being adhered to. Ensure maximum productivity and accurate store orders. Work closely with Inventory Accounting to maintain an understanding of Inventory Activities and how they impact Inventory. The accuracy of the Distribution Centers' inventory allows maximum productivity and accurate store orders. Make recommendations based on report results, and monitor and troubleshoot the inventory activities at the DC's.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
  • Review the previous day’s adjustments to ensure inventory in the system is correct.
  • Create and review inventory adjustment reports for distribution to the corporate office.
  • Pull vendor returns from inventory and make the appropriate adjustments to vendor accounts.
  • Investigate inventory that shows as available in the system but cannot be found in the distribution center and invalid/problem pallets; determine corrective action to be taken.
  • Manage the flow of inventory through the distribution center.
  • Assign merchandise to a pick location in the distribution center; measure the size of new items; ensure there is the proper capacity to hold all items; perform verifications to ensure all items are slotted correctly.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts a minimum of every six (6) months.
  • Prepare and release the assignment of merchandise amounts going to each store; print this information on store orders.
  • Build pick boxes for high volume pick modules.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises Inventory Control associates and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
This position requires a valid driver’s license for business travel. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, plus two (2) years' experience in distribution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
