THE ROLE: The Inventory Control Analyst will be responsible for Inventory storage, accuracy, and movement in and between all focus factories and warehouses. In this role, the incumbent will also Develop awareness of inventory practices throughout the organization. Develop and Implement Inventory Control utilizing existing ERP systems (BPCs). Work with and develop the cycle count team to support the site inventory goals and production. Investigate root cause and develop/implement process improvements to ensure inventory accuracy and efficient material flow throughout entire material planning and handling processes. Work with and act as a liaison between purchasing, receiving, manufacturing, and shipping departments. Implement inventory control procedures and best practices. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
- Release Kanban orders to suppliers.
- Continuously monitor and improve material handling, storage, and movement to maximize safety, efficiency, traceability, and space utilization.
- Assists in training employees, raising awareness of inventory practices and the importance of accuracy.
- Provide reports and results of data analysis to senior management.
- Material setting changes and transactions per Engineering Change Requirements and Notice.
- Drive improvement in FIFO and reduction in E&O.
- Participate in an environment focused on continuous improvement & teamwork as it relates to inventory.
- Manage Inventory personnel, training, and distribution of workload.
- Oversee transaction and return of nonconforming material.
- Monitor and analyze negative inventory balances, identify root cause and drive corrective action.
- Establish and maintain strategic organization and storage of material on manufacturing floor and throughout focus factories.
- Develop and manage inventory settings and techniques
- Manage inventory for focus factories and warehouses. Develop and implement process improvements to reduce inventory inaccuracies and simplify the process.
- Inventory data analysis to drive corrective action and inventory optimization.
- Supervise indirect hourly personnel. Maintain high morale and good working relationship with bargaining unit.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Develop, Implement and manage Cycle Count program and Physical Inventory, as applicable. Track and analyze data to identify trends, root cause, and implement/oversee corrective action.
- Track raw material, finished goods, and E&O inventories. Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements and cost savings opportunities. Report on Inventory activities and variances.
- Promote safety awareness and culture. Work with safety department to ensure safe handling of all material.
- Other duties and Projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience with AS400 ERP System preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Effective leadership skills: The supervisor needs strong leadership skills to carry out recruiting and hiring; resolving conflicts, and keeping the people motivated enough to work effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 5+ years’ experience in inventory control, materials, and/or supply chain in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; or a combination of relevant experience and education.
- Ability to work under pressure and still maintain ideal disposition towards work.
- Problem solving skills: must have the ability to anticipate problems and prepare to solve them.
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role, the working environment is both office and manufacturing floor and the physical demands may include but not limited to standing or sitting position 8+ hours/shift, considerable movement involving reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting, work requires close attention to lifting and handling of medium weight parts up to 35 lbs. Heavy parts raised to position with hoist.
