Summary
The International Supply Chain Manager contributes to meeting our goals of exceptional customer service, quality, process improvement, and profitability by managing international client projects to meet defined timelines, financial metrics, and other agreed-upon deliverables. The International Supply Chain Manager works to develop alternate channels for the International Department, including agent development, service provider relationships, and shipper lead qualification and is also responsible for pricing, quoting, RFP support and Cargo Wise optimization.
To grow revenue and maximize efficiency, the International Supply Chain Manager takes a proactive approach to assessing current processes and methodologies in the International department and recommending changes for improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
The International Supply Chain Manager ensures successful international client on-boarding by charting, monitoring, and following up on identified steps in the process as well as the specific metrics identified for the project, such as budgets, margins, collection of fees, and progress analysis. In working closely with client representatives and assessing needs, the International Supply Chain Manager will also identify potential new revenue opportunities for the sales department.




Performance metricsPerformance metrics for this position will be established annually based on:
Department profit margin (percent), on-time performance, turnaround for quoting.

Key outcomes expectedIn collaboration with the Director of Operations, increase revenue stream into the International department by analyzing customer requirements and developing proactive responses to better serve customers and provide additional solutions.
Develop relationships with agents and service providers to extend international service offering and meet margin goals. Establish carrier score carding.
Reach out to current shippers and their vendors to increase revenue through an inside sales process.
Develop a tariff schedule for service offerings (country to country).
Quote rates and negotiate with customers and carriers.
Ensure Cargo wise implementation and optimization throughout the department.
Actively participate in identifying and developing initiatives that will result in improved processes.
Resolve escalation of customer and/or carrier issues that cannot be effectively handled by International personnel.

Investigate market conditions to make suggestions to management to grow the international business, and take other steps to become the internal "subject matter expert."
Develop and provide training to the sales team to increase their effectiveness in selling product offerings. Actively participate in the RFP process.
Support compliance with company processes for managing, tracking, and completing customer orders.
Ensure the successful on-boarding of new clients as well as continued effectiveness of current client relationships:
  • Manage project financials to agreed-upon margins and/or expenses and oversee collection of all project fees and expenses in a timely manner as agreed in the client contract.
  • Manage client project schedules to ensure on-time completion of all agreed-upon deliverables according to defined quality standards.
  • Monitor ongoing progress of clients following on-boarding engagements and track progress toward agreed-upon business goals.
  • Working closely with the Director of Operations, develop an effective client on-boarding process that meets the organization's goals of client service and profitability.
  • Assess client organizations' current supply chain capabilities and practices and define opportunities to create new business value, including the business solutions and structures needed to realize these opportunities.
  • Coordinate project reporting from client engagements according to on-boarding process methodology, including financial, schedule, learning, accomplishments, contacts, client satisfaction, status reports, etc.
  • Working closely with the sales department, create project approaches and work plans for client engagements and develop estimates during the sales cycle of such projects. Proactively identify and alert others to indicators that the project will notmeet Langham's goals.
  • Monitor project scopes and contract change orders, coordinating with the Director of Sales and executive staff of Langham.
  • Manage project resources (cross-functional team members, hired consultants, client personnel, etc.) to complete agreed-upon deliverables and meet business goals.
  • Provide feedback to the Director of Sales and our ownership regarding commonly occurring challenges in the on-boarding process and recommend ideas for resolution.
  • Prioritize and resolve project issues in a way that balances scope, quality, budget, schedule, and risk.
Establish and promote a positive relationship with customers to contribute to the continuation of contracts and potential additional sales:
? Ensure all interactions with customers are handled in a professional and service oriented manner.
? Explore customer concerns and problems to uncover opportunities for additional sales.
? Collaborate with the sales department to communicate status of their customers' shipments to create a message of seamless service.
? Proactively communicate with the sales department any problems or issues that arise that could impact the sales relationship.
Ensure all internal activities performed adhere to quality and process procedures.
Provide support and back up CSR responsibilities as needed.
Represent Langham Logistics
? Provide courteous, professional service to both internal and external customers.
? Present a positive image of to both internal and external customers.

Experience, education, degreesB.S./B.A.in finance, business, logistics, or related discipline.
5-7 years experience in the international freight forwarding ocean/air exports and imports, including incoterm, container trucking, and import clearance. IATA or IMDG Dangerous Goods Certified will be a plus.
Previous experience in working with National Accounts and quoting rates.

Physical demandsMust be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment. Will spend majority of time sitting working with computers and telephones.
