Title: Controller
On Site: Fort Lauderdale Corporate location.
2–4-month assignment. Potential to go Perm.
Pay rate:$80/hr.
Key responsibilities
• Manage team of associates processing general accounting & lead the team in the day-to-day performance of the process
• Ensure review and posting of adjusting/correcting journals
• Review expense provisioning and plants wise distribution of cost entries before posting
• Ensure review of interdivision, intra-division reconciliation of balances and transactions
• Ensure the preparation account closing check list to initiate month end close process
• Manage period end close preparation and required reports production
• Maintain GL master and identify/approve new GL requirement
• Ensure overall compliance of operations with group policies, processes and internal controls, and local guidelines
• Manage and handle all external and internal audits
• Support and administers process procedures and standards
• Review and analyze MIS and other business required reports
• Assist team in trouble shooting and decision making
Knowledge and Experience
- Preferred qualifications – CA / CMA
- Strong communication and customer service orientation
- Experience in manufacturing / aerospace industry preferred
- 15-20 years of work experience in a similar role, including the accounting management of a company – General Accounting
- Competent Microsoft Office user (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change
- Management of high-volume General Ledger function, with good knowledge of associated controls and procedures
- Management of costs within budgetary constraints
- Knowledge of statutory requirements in relation to General Ledger
- Experience in identifying and implementing leading practices related to closing and reporting
- A distinct advantage: Experience of leading role in a Finance Shared Service Centre.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement & operational excellence
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance/Accounting required
- Good experience of, and competence in using SAP (a must)
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
