Job Description
Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Orlando, FL is looking for an Assistant Controller.

Summary

The Assistant Controller will report to the NAM Sr. Controller and being a business partner to facility GM and facility operation leaders, this role will be responsible for all financial activity within the manufacturing P/L. This role will have two direct reports within the finance organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide financial results of Orlando Service Center (OSC), to include Applied Hours, Revenues, COGS, Operating Expenses and Operating Profit.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.
  • Supervise a team of financial analysts and interns.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate reporting from each individual section of accounting.
  • Provide support to Operational leaders for P&L, Inventory, and manufacturing KPI’s for the Americas-including communications to Leadership.
  • Lead in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to financial and accounting functions.
  • Responsible for managing financial information requested by auditors, Federal and State government agencies and institutions, and lead to manage various reporting to parent companies.
  • Take active role in creating/monitoring OSC budgets/forecasts on monthly/quarterly/yearly basis-this includes variance analysis and communication (OneStream reporting).
  • Leas in the maintenance of policies and procedures related to financial and accounting functions.
  • Support quarterly/annual external audits, internal audits, and J Sox reporting.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Adobe Acrobat, and overall computer navigational skills.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of any third parties.
  • Always maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels.

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or at least (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of ERP systems, and accounting, database, manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, word processing and email software.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
