Job Description
Primary Job Role


Manages all aspects of the general ledger within CODA FINANCIALS; Maintains all interfaces between CODA FINANCIALS and Caterpillar DEALER BUSINESS SYSTEM (DBS) ERP system utilized by dealership operations.


Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, fixed asset detail, fixed asset depreciation, costs, property and operating expenses.


Coordinates the month-end closing process, including monthly reconciliations, journal entries, roll-forwards, supporting schedules, and variance analysis. Analyzes and reports on cost variances on a monthly, quarterly and year-end basis.


Supervises and participates in the preparation of various internal and external financial statements and reports; Researches accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.


Directs internal reviews of accounting and administrative internal controls; Establishes and maintains a system of internal controls for financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.


Serves as a liaison to external auditors and tax accountants; Coordinates the preparation of external audit materials, external financial reporting and supporting schedules for income tax return preparation.


Assists in the supervision of accounts payable, general accounting and payroll departments.


Coordinates compliance with regulatory agencies at the local, state and federal levels including but not limited to sales and use tax, tangible property tax, state and federal income tax, and any other requests from various government regulatory agencies.

Education And Experience


Formal Education Bachelor's Degree in a related area of study


Experience 3-4 years


Required / Credentials


Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.


Certified Public Accountant


3 years' experience in Public Accounting


Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria


Masters in Business Administration


Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and 10-key


Familiar with setup and usage of ODBC connections for extracting data


Updating of Knowledge


Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.
