Job Description

At Hoffmann Brothers University (HBU), we are dedicated to nurturing a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and advancement of the skilled trades. We are currently seeking an Instructional Design and Training Manager to join our HBU team and elevate the training experience for our front-line team members.


As the Instructional Design and Training Manager, you will be an important part of HBU, responsible for collaborating with office and field leadership to design and develop training content and programs. Your role will focus on onboarding and the ongoing development of the Hoffmann Brothers team. We are looking for an individual with a passion for training and proven experience in creating engaging and interactive learning materials.


Responsibilities:

Training Needs Assessment:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts across the business to identify learning needs and analyze skill gaps in various departments.
  • Recommend and implement training and development opportunities to enhance employee performance and goal attainment.

Instructional Content Design:

  • Seek appropriate approvals for training courses from relevant licensing boards.
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts develop comprehensive and engaging courses targeted at front-line team members.
  • Ensure all training content aligns with adult learning theory and incorporates interactive elements.

Learning Material Development:

  • Integrate training courses into the Learning Management System for easy accessibility.
  • Create training content in various formats, such as formal eLearning modules, videos, instructor-led courses (in-person or virtual), job aides, and reference guides.

Training Facilitation and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with external vendors, when necessary, to provide specialized training programs.
  • Provide ongoing support to team members enrolled in training and communicate program-related updates effectively.
  • Support departments in facilitating learning courses for front-line team members.

Training Impact Measurement:

  • Utilize data insights to continuously enhance training courses and materials.
  • Develop a system to capture data and evaluate the impact of training, learner experience, and manager satisfaction through the integrated Learning Management System.

Competencies:

  • Create written materials tailored to the purpose and audience.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Display exceptional attention to detail and follow instructions diligently.
  • Possess a strong foundation in adult learning theory and advanced learning methodologies and technologies.
  • Exhibit effective time management and maximize productivity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and skilled in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting complex data.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field is required.
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge will be considered.
  • Prior experience in Training & Development within a corporate environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Learning Management Systems (e.g., Absorb), instructional design, and interactive eLearning software is desirable.
  • Experience with assessment tools selection and administration, as well as providing feedback on individual or group assessment data, is advantageous.
