Inst Asst 4 / Behavior Spec

This instructional assistant position will have the following responsibilities and performance expectations:

• Maintain a professional attitude, be sensitive to boundaries, respect confidentiality, etc.
• Maintain high professional standards: be honest, reliable, punctual, and respectful.
• Attend training as required.
• Provide classroom or 1:1 aide support over short periods for emergency behavior situations.
• Skills of adaptability, flexibility, initiative, problem-solving, common sense, and self-management.
• Model behavior interventions for students with behavioral concerns throughout the district (K-12+).
• Work as a team member: communicate effectively, share ideas, collaborate, and build relationships.
• Conduct observations of students in various school environments. Collect, summarize, and analyze data and write reports.
• Work closely with School Psychologist, classroom teachers, and staff to model and support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Develop positive, cooperative relationships. Effectively establish rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
